A Comparative Performance Evaluation of Routing Protocols for Flying Ad-Hoc Networks in Real Conditions

چکیده
Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) are widely used in our modern society and their development is rapidly accelerating. Flying Ad Hoc Networks (FANETs) have opened a new window of opportunity to create value-added services. However, the characteristics that make FANETs unique, such as node mobility, distance, energy constraints, etc., imply several guidelines need be considered for successful deployment. Although numerous routing protocols been proposed FANETs, due wide range applications which can applied, not all used. Due this challenge, after breaking down classifying different types existing FANET, paper analyzes compares performance (Babel, BATMAN-ADV, OLSR) terms throughput packet loss real deployment composed UAV nodes using 2.4 5 GHz WiFi networks. The results show Babel achieves better studied metrics than OLSR while BATMAN-ADV delivers significantly lower performance. This experimental study confirms importance choosing proper protocol evaluation, something will extremely important few years when type network common day-to-day life.

Comparative Performance Evaluation of Routing Protocols for Mobile, Ad hoc
We evaluate several routing protocols for mobile, wireless, ad hoc networks via packet level simulations. The protocol suite includes routing protocols specifically designed for ad hoc routing, as well as more traditional protocols, such as link state and distance vector, used for dynamic networks. Performance is evaluated with respect to fraction of packets delivered, end-to-end delay and rout...

Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks (VANETs) are a new communication paradigm that enables the communication between vehicles moving at high speeds on the roads. This has opened doors to develop several new applications like traffic engineering, traffic management, dissemination of emergency information to avoid hazardous situations and other user applications. VANETs are direct offshoot of Mobile Ad Hoc...
متن کاملPerformance Evaluation of Ad-hoc Routing Protocols
A wireless ad hoc network is a decentralized wireless network. The network is ad hoc because it does not rely on a preexisting infrastructure, such as routers in wired networks or access points in managed (infrastructure) wireless networks. Instead, each node participates in routing by forwarding data for other nodes, and so the determination of which nodes forward data is made dynamically base...
متن کاملImproving Performance of Opportunistic Routing Protocol using Fuzzy Logic for Vehicular Ad-hoc Networks in Highways
Vehicular ad hoc networks are an emerging technology with an extensive capability in various applications including vehicles safety, traffic management and intelligent transportation systems. Considering the high mobility of vehicles and their inhomogeneous distributions, designing an efficient routing protocol seems necessary. Given the fact that a road is crowded at some sections and is not c...
متن کاملFlying Ad-Hoc Networks: Routing Protocols, Mobility Models, Issues
Flying Ad-Hoc Networks (FANETs) is a group of Unmanned Air Vehicles (UAVs) which completed their work without human intervention. There are some problems in this kind of networks: the first one is the communication between (UAVs). Various routing protocols introduced classified into three categories, static, proactive, reactive routing protocols in order to solve this problem. The second proble...
